Fire update - June 24

This will be the last update until we have another significant fire event.

Mostly cool day yesterday with no rain.  No smoke in town this morning.  The slight haze yesterday morning didn't last long.   With rain and lower temps in the short term forecast, the fire hazard risk should lessen significantly.

New fires include:
Williams Lake - 2 small fires just north of town.

Most of the new fires yesterday started in the very NE corner of the province.

Existing notable fires:
Lang Lake - approximately 1 hectare fire NE of Lang.  This fire is approximately 12km SW of Hendrix Lake.  The fire is still "Being Held".  Expect this fire to be "Out" later today or tomorrow.

Canim Reserve -  Small fire just south of the reservation.  This fire is officially "Out".

Williams Lake area - several new small fires in the surrounding area.  All out.

Hwy 1 from Lytton to Ashcroft - several fires within a few kms of the highway.  All out.

McLean Lake Rd (Cache Creek).  Small fire 7km west of Cache Creek.  This fire is officially "Out".
