Fire update - July 26

As the Okanagan fires are now coming under control and there are no fires of note in the Cariboo, this will be the last update until the next major fire event.

A little warmer again today in the Cariboo, high of 28C at the lake.  The Okanagan had highs in the low-30s.  Temps in the low to mid 30s are forecast there until next Tuesday, when they might get some rain.

Only one new fire in the Cariboo (11ha, about 30km south of Quesnel).  That is the only fire in the Cariboo over 0.01 hectares that is currently "Out of control".

A campfire ban for the Kamloops Fire District began today (July 26).  More information here.

New fires include:

About a dozen new fires today mostly in the northeastern corner of the province.  None are of note at this point.

Existing notable fires:
Spences Bridge - 2km north of the town.  The 85ha fire is "Under Control" and the highway is now fully open.

Mt. Eneas - 7km south of Peachland.  Remains at 1,800 hectares.  Further growth is not expected and is now listed as "Being Held".

Goode's Creek - Okanagan Mtn Park remains at 577ha.  Progress continues on this fire, but no specifics are available.

Mount Conkle - just NW of Penticton remains at 118 ha.  This fire is still "Being Held", and will be removed as a "Fire of Note" on July 27.
