Fire update - July 25

Much warmer today in the Cariboo, high of 26C at the lake.  The Okanagan had highs in the low-30s.  Temps in the low to mid 30s are forecast there until next Tuesday, when they might get some rain.

Only one new fire in the Cariboo (0.6ha near 130 Mile House).  That is the only fire in the Cariboo over 0.01 hectares that are currently "Out of control".

A campfire ban for the Kamloops Fire District begins on Thursday July 26.  Press release here.

New fires include:

About a dozen new fires today spread mostly across the southern part of the province, four along the Georgia Strait.  None are of note at this point.

Existing notable fires:
Spences Bridge - 2km north of the town.  An 85ha fire that is now "Under Control".  The highway is still only open to single-lane alternating traffic, but that should change to fully open soon.  Check Drive BC for the latest on road closures.  You can see a good aerial picture of the fire here.

Mt. Eneas - 7km south of Peachland.  Increase in size to 1,800 hectares.  Further growth is not expected.  All evacuation alerts have been lifted for this fire.

Goode's Creek - Okanagan Mtn Park has increased to 577ha.  Progress continues on this fire, but no specifics are available.

Mount Conkle - just NW of Penticton remains at 118 ha.  This fire is still "Being Held".
